ALASKA RAILROAD TRANSFER COMMITTEE
While the Alaska Railroad is important to the State of Alaska, the 1982 Alaska Railroad Transfer Act should not be used:
to change existing private property rights,
to potentially exclude use of public lands, or
to increase utility costs.
In declaring the Alaska Railroad Track Easement to be an "exclusive use" easement, the Department of the Interior administered the 1982 transfer in a way that negatively affects Alaskans.
