ALASKA RAILROAD TRANSFER COMMITTEE
While the Alaska Railroad is important to the State of Alaska, the 1982 Alaska Railroad Transfer Act should not be used:

to change existing private property rights,
-
to potentially exclude use of public lands, or
-
to increase utility costs.
In declaring the Alaska Railroad Track Easement to be an "exclusive use" easement, the Department of the Interior administered the 1982 transfer in a way that negatively affects Alaskans.
